Stephanie’s story

Stephanie has rented her property—where she lives with her eight year-old daughter and newborn child—since 2014. She needed to move into the property quickly as her mother was moving and Stephanie hadn’t secured a suitable property. She told us:

This was mine and my daughter’s first home. I looked at a lot of properties but I couldn’t find anything suitable. Either the rent was too much, or the properties were dated and damp.

“I was made-up when I found this house, everything was perfect and the property was immaculate. Equfund are marvellous at dealing with repair issues. I recently had roof tiles fall in a storm and repairs were done the next day.

My family all live close by, my little girl attends the school over the road, and we attend The Sailors Chapel—a church my Dad took me to when I was a child. These roads have gorgeous views across the River Mersey in the summer, it’s a lovely place to live.

Our neighbours are a close-knit group too, and everyone looks out for each other. A lady who lives at the bottom of our street had a house-fire and we’ve all been by making tea for the builders repairing her house. It’s a real community here. I’m very happy.”

I love our house and I love the area. It’s where I’ve lived all my life. It’s my home.
